See how ScaleSpark turned a list of operations services into a clearer buying story, with before-and-after homepages and feedback from CEO Maria Pienaar.
ScaleSpark helps startup founders manage operations. Its offer covered finance, HR, IT, and the systems connecting them. Describing those services as back-office support made it hard to explain what was different about the approach.
The work focused on giving that approach a shared name and a clear reason to matter. Maria described the earlier message this way:
First the villain: Build-As-You-Go Operations ... the spreadsheets, the Zaps, the Notion docs pretending to be a system. Then the new game they get to lead: Smart Operations. And the thing they'd been selling with no name got one: SparkStack, their Operational OS.
Maria says the framework shaped the homepage, sales conversations, and the AI Brand Twin the team uses. The screenshots below show how the message was applied.
The rewrite
A wireframe of the shift ... the old game on the left, the new game we built on the right. Real lines from the work.
A list of finance, HR, and IT services tells a founder what they can hire. It leaves another question open: why should they change the way their business runs?
The new story starts with an approach a growing startup may recognize: adding spreadsheets, tools, and workarounds as problems appear. The message asks whether that approach can keep up as the company grows.
Smart Operations names the proposed alternative. SparkStack gives the connected system a name. The buyer can now compare two ways of running operations and ask whether the change is worth making.
This is our explanation of the messaging decision. The screenshots document the work; Maria's words document her response. Buyer conversion would need its own measurement.
The lesson for another B2B founder: explain the approach your customer uses today, what makes it harder as their situation changes, and how your offer helps. A new category name needs a clear explanation and evidence behind it.

A few pieces we're proud of

He named a new category ... He's a category-namer, not a copywriter. There's a difference.
Wow ... this really now clarifies what we do and who we are. Amazing.
We walked out with Smart Operations as our category, SparkStack as our delivery system, and a framework that shaped our homepage, our sales conversations, and the AI Brand Twin our team uses every day.
Then she referred another founder to us, unprompted, and invited Greg onto her podcast.
The evidence here is the published website work, Maria's endorsement, and her subsequent referral. We haven't measured a before-and-after change in revenue, conversion, or AI recommendations for this case study.
I'd like to learn what's working and what's not working in your sales and marketing. If there's something I can do to help, I'll tell you what that is. If not, I'll say so.
